Text Box: Dear Servant, What child ever wanted to hear their parent say “No”? Of course you do not want to be told that it is not my will. Your heart cries out for what you feel is best and it is crushing to be told that no matter how much you desire it, I will not allow it. My word tells you that my ways are above your ways and my thoughts are beyond yours. In great wisdom Solomon wrote, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” In truth, you will never fully understand my ways as long as you live on the earth. We will be at odds over many things and will often disagree on what is best. So how can you have relationship with me knowing we will disagree? Our relationship is possible because of my love and sacrifice for you. I paid the penalty. I reached out to you and offered forgiveness. If I have done all that, am I not trustworthy? Our relationship is not based on you getting your way, or the blessings I give you. Our relationship is about learning to trust that my answers are always given in love. No matter the outcome, no matter how awful the circumstance you can trust my love. Rest in me and have faith in me. My “No” contains more love than a million of this worlds “Yes’s”.
